Have been studying the passage of Elijah sitting in a cave. He was what we call today 'emo.' He had enough of life. He had come down a road where he thought that all he had done in life was useless and most of all that God had let him down. He just wanted to die.
We have all had that opportunity of feeling sorry for ourselves, we say no one understands me, no one cares for me or even like Elijah we say 'God you let me down.'
I love God's response to Elijah as he sitting there in cave. He allows His awesome power to be displayed but at the end in a 'soft voice' he calls out to the prophet. Elijah is hears the love in God's voice. We as people will always respond to softness.
The next time you feel that everyone (including yourself) have let you down ask God what He thinks about you. He is just waiting to help, encourage and place you back on track so that you can fulfil all that you are called to do.
